Communing With Nature
A young woman with flaming red hair basks semi-nude in the sunlight and natural surroundings of a forest while wearing an ornate gold leaf appliqued Japanese kimono that was inspired by a custom made, artist signed and numbered, antique Japanese Wedding Kimono purchased in 1990 by the artist's mother and now in the possession of the artist.
(The artist's mother, Betty E. Ives, is a famous Canadian quilt artist and instructor and was in Japan as the Canadian Invitational Artist exhibiting her quilt, "Peacock Paradise" at the 1990 "International Gardens and Greenery Exposition", held in Kyoto, Japan. The white albino peacocks in her quilt enticed her to purchase this exotic garment for her personal collection and to exhibit during her public lectures.)
