"A Midsummer Night Dream" is an exercise in capturing the depth and intensity of colour and the contrast between light and shadow.

Stepping through an ivy-covered arch, fireflies and a Middle Eastern lantern light the way of this cloaked female subject and expose the creatures of the night like the very large toad in the left bottom corner. Fairies dance in the trees under the twilight sky while sprites harness the power of the white mouse and ride through the night holding tightly to the tiny creature's neck or grasping firmly to its tail.
