"Not Everything Is Black And White" is the seventh Spirit Painting in the "Colour Collection", a series of nine paintings each based upon a single colour in the Colour Wheel (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet) plus Black, White, and Brown.

This painting, representing the colour Black, is an excercise in recording various tonal colour combinations of skin. As a professional portrait artist and Educator , it is the artist's responsibility to capture the various skin tones of all Ethnic groups and teach those paint combinations to others. While Caucasian skin has a multitude of tones to mix, so does the skin of a person of colour....not the least of which is created by using Black paint!
