The Passing of Time

Time passes through the ages from womanhood to old age in this Spirit Painting inspired by the brass hourglass that artist, Kathryn Rutherford, purchased in an antique shop in Las Vegas (next door to the "Gold and Silver Pawn Shop" made famous by the television show "Pawn Stars). Among the background elements of the Tree of Life, Gothic arches, sun dials, and time pieces, Kathryn's often included favourite subject matter of bubbles and glass orbs float throughout the composition.
