"Reading Is Magical” is the ninth Spirit Painting in the "Colour Collection", a series of nine paintings each based upon a single colour in the Colour Wheel (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet) plus Black, White, and Brown.

Representing Brown, this painting finds a young woman seemingly alone in an attic with her cat and her books. But wait, what is this? Have the words in books brought forth imaginary visions of warrior women and creatures of the night?
