Reading Opens Doors to Imagination
The landing of an 1800's farmhouse at the John R. Park Homestead Conservation Area Museum in Ontario, Canada, and an Edwardian photograph of a woman holding a book inspired this original Spirit Painting in the "Evening with The Arts Series". Representing "Literature" this painting shows how books cross the barriers of time and expand the imagination of the reader.
The newest member of the artist, Kathryn Rutherford's, real-life family is "Shadow", the cat, who was painted in this composition and sits demurely on the step along with her young girl companion. Since Shadow is strickly an indoor house pet that does not like to share her world, it is a very good thing the friendly dog is merely a transparent apparition.
